Carpet on stairs, done the way it should be
Stairs are where good installers earn their money and cheap ones get found out. Every step, nosing and turn has to be wrapped tight and finished clean or it looks lumpy and the grip lifts underfoot. Stairs and landings are exactly what Brad’s Carpets is known for across Ingleburn and South-West Sydney — laid crisp, tight and safe.
- Straight flights, winders & half-landings

How we handle your stairs & landings job
Tight, safe treads
Each step is wrapped and fixed so the carpet grips the nosing hard and doesn’t pull loose. No sagging, no lifting edge to catch a toe or a heel.
Winders and turns
Curved stairs, winders and pie-shaped turns are fiddly and where most installs go wrong. We cut and fit them so the lines stay clean around every bend.
Landings & hallways
We carry the carpet through landings and hallways with the pile running consistent and seams hidden, so the whole run reads as one tidy piece.
A finish that lasts
Stairs cop the most traffic in the house. We use hard-wearing carpet and lay it tight so it holds its shape and its look where it matters most.
- Straight & winder stairs
- Tight nosings
- Half-landings
- Matched hallways
- Safe underfoot
Stairs & Landings FAQs
Do you carpet curved or winder staircases?
Yes. Winders, pie turns and curved flights are some of the trickiest work in carpet laying and it’s work we do regularly. Each tread is cut and fitted individually so it looks neat around the turn.
What’s the best carpet for stairs?
Stairs need a hard-wearing carpet — a good solution-dyed nylon or a tight loop pile holds up far better than a soft plush on high-traffic steps. We’ll recommend the right one when we measure.
Can you match my stairs to the existing hallway carpet?
If the same carpet is still available, yes. If it’s discontinued we’ll help you choose a close or complementary match and place any join where it’s least visible.
My stair carpet has come loose — can you re-fix it?
Usually yes. Loose or lifting stair carpet is a common repair. We re-stretch and re-fix it tight around the nosings so it’s safe again, rather than replacing the whole run.
